| Ethiraj college parent teacher Association (ECPTA) is formed with an objective to create good relationship between parents of the students and teachers of the college. It is registered with the registrar of societies on 17th July 2000. |

| The chairman of the ethiraj college trust is the president of the Association and the principal is the secretary. The joint Secretary, treasurer and executive committee members amongst the staff are nominated by the staff members of the college. 15 members representing parents are nominated for the post of executive committee members. |

| Dr. A M Swaminathan, the chairman of the board of trustees is the president of ECPTA and Dr. Thavamani, principal of the college is the secretary of the ECPTA. Executive Committee of the ECPTA is held at least twice a year. |

| PTA funds are mainly used for providing and maintaining infrastructure facilities and for promoting research in the college. Campus II measuring 1,65,000 sq. ft., hostel block measuring 30,000 sq ft., library block of 32,000 sq ft. , controller of examinations block measuring 14,000 sq ft. were constructed by the substantial contribution of the PTA funds. |

| Annual General Body Meeting of ECPTA is held once a year. Parents attend in large members and interact with the management and faculty and give their suggestions for better functioning of the college. |
