Clubs
 
The college has several clubs that operate with great efficiency to enable the students to participate in meaningful activities that are of service to the community
 
Several new clubs have also been started in the year 2009-2010 to ensure the healthy and whole-hearted participation of the students in several interesting activities. These are the

  5. Fine Arts Club
  6. Film and TV appreciation Club
  7. Quiz Club and the Theatre Society

Citizen Consumer Club
 
Citizen Consumer Club of Ethiraj College, the brain child of our chairman Thiru. Dr. A. M. Swaminathan was inaugurated on 2nd December 2008 by Mr. K. Rajaraman I.A.S , Commissioner, Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection. The motto of the club is to enhance awareness among the student community about the rights and responsibilities as a consumer. The club has 500 students as members. Eminent personalities from various walks of life were invited in the past to address students on topics ranging from Product Standard and Hallmarking, Food Adulteration and Right to Information Act. The club has its own News Letter – ‘Consumer Connect’ , which covers wide range of issues as product testing, certification marks , health and environmental issues. It also undertakes surveys to assess the pulse of the consumers. This venture is the first of its kind among the citizen consumer clubs of all schools and colleges in Tamilnadu.
 
In association with the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, CCC of Ethiraj College will be hosting ‘Consumer Fest 2010’ on 6th February 2010 . The event will involve consumer clubs of all schools and colleges in and around the city of Chennai. Series of competitions have been planned to bring out the best from the student community. Government Departments such as BIS, RBI , Metro Water , BSNL, Agmark etc will also participate in the fest and give live demos in related areas. ‘Global Hospitals and Health City’ has consented to be the health care partner for the event. The CCC of Ethiraj College strives to march forward in its effort to create smart consumers.
